About Dr Surridge

Dr. Surridge's passion for psychology and child development began with her early training as a Nursery Nurse at West Kent College, where she earned her qualification in Childcare and Education in 2000. She then pursued a degree in Psychology at the University of Kent before returning to Gibraltar in 2003 to work as an Assistant Psychologist for the Gibraltar Health Authority (GHA).

 

Her dedication to the field led her to the UK, where she gained further experience in three Assistant Psychologist roles within the NHS. In 2008, she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Applications of Psychology at Newman University College, Birmingham. She later qualified as a Doctor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Birmingham in 2013. Following her doctoral training, she worked for four years within the GHA, providing specialist psychological support and contributing to service development.

Professional Contributions and Publications
Dr. Surridge is actively involved in training and professional development, regularly delivering sessions to colleagues, external teams, healthcare professionals, and the general public. Her work has extended to audit and quality assurance, as well as organisational leadership and service improvement.

 

Her research and publications span academic journals, Department of Health reports, conference papers, and magazine articles. Notably, her work has gained recognition through:

  • A feature on BBC Radio 4

  • Team nominations and shortlistings for multiple NHS service awards

  • Winning the NHS Care Trust Award

 

Through her ongoing work, Dr. Surridge remains committed to enhancing psychological services and improving outcomes for individuals and communities.
